The cross country season kicks off with the Eridge Park 10 Trail Challenge in September, followed by the Kent Cross Country League from October through to February. The Kent Vets and Southern Masters take place in December. The senior championship races start early in the New year with the Kent Champs, the Southern Champs and the Nationals in January and February. To finish the season, the TWH club championships are held in Hargate Forest in March.
If you fancy having a go – it’s low-key, great fun, and good winter training. For further info please contact Ed Steele (Men’s cross country captain) or Jillian Holford (Ladies’ cross country captains).
XC only costs £5 to cover you for every event in the season and anyone can enter and come along.
There are a number of deadlines to be aware of, some being quite far in advance of the race
A full list of entries for each event is kept up-to-date here, you can’t enter on the day so please make sure you are on this list if you want to race
Password is the usual one for XC reports, ask one of the captain’s if you don’t know it
XC Entries 2019
Kent Cross Country League
The men’s races are 10K and the women’s races only 5K. (If any women think that this is too short then regard it as a bit of speed training – it will do wonders for your fitness). For all but one of the races the women run directly before the men so, for both men and women, there’s plenty of support as you slog your way through the mud. There are four matches over the season, but even if you can only make it for one race you could score valuable points for the club, especially as the men take part in both a ‘4 to score’ and a ’12 to score’.
South of the Thames (SOTT)
The South of the Thames is an historic series of racing that the previous incarnation of the club won! What makes these special is that they are one of the few mixed XC races of the year, with all categories competing at the same time, just not against each other

These are the tougher races of the year, with national competition at the southern and national champs along with some very tough courses
