Following on from my first ever parkrun on Christmas Day at Tunbridge Wells, I reverted back to my more accustomed distance on Saturday 28th in the Winter Cross Ultra. I competed in the 50km race which started at 7:30am from Meonstoke.
The course consisted of three legs. The first was 9km out and back along an old railway line. The second and third legs were each 21km and each consisted of different sections of the SDW. There was also a 45 mile option if you were confident on making it back to HQ before dark.
It was a good day for running and the views on the second leg were great. The race was well organised and fully marked.
The winning men’s time was 3:48:11. I finished 37th overall (6th woman and won the F50 trophy) in 5:24:53.
