Wednesday Run – Village People

News

Greetings Harriers

I’m this week’s Routemaster 🚌, so fasten your seat belts and here we go ……

This week’s run is a repeat of one that Allan Cheek set for us back in 2011. Cheeky needs no introduction to club members. He has done much for the club and prior to becoming Hub Meister, included Social Secretary and Race Director before we had to move him upstairs (don’t tell him) to the job of President (for life ?). He even has a very decent marathon time under his belt as well as several club road and XC M50 titles.

We will be exploring the wild west region of Tunbridge Wells (Rusthall) as well as the village area, before a “scenic” return to the club rooms.

The full route is 6.9 miles with a variety of shorter routes between 4.4 and 6.5 miles – something for everyone.

WARNING – beware a seemingly harmless mature gent offering to take you for a drink at every hostellery on route.
It might be a scam that will only succeed in giving you a hangover.

A head torch would be handy this week (although a lit road option is available)

Current forecast is for dry and 5C and winds of under 10mph !
You must wear something bright and hi vis. Fancy dress options are available (see picture above).

Smiley Chris will be behind the (newly refurbished) bar as usual upstairs after the run with his special brand of humour and the finest beer, wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity. The Master Brew is actually as good as it gets at the moment , thanks to Chris, so give it a try.

7:30 ish start from the Nevill – its time to commit !

Any offers for setting routes gratefully received. Gem is doing one next month, so can you !
