Greetings Harriers
After a week off, I’m again this week’s Routemaster đ, so fasten your seat belts and here we go ……
This week’s run is a repeat of one John Hepner set for us in March 2011.Â
John has been a member of the club for many years and has worked tirelessly for the club (largely behind the scenes) in that time.
He was also a brilliant runner in his youth and has competed in events such as the Comrades Marathon.
A route not to be missed, as it maybe your last chance to run up Sausage Factory Hill this year.
I’m sure King Mike will extol its Canterbury preparation credentials and it is a last chance for a Wednesday blast before we descend into Christmas light gazing a week later.
The full route is 6.9 miles (or 7.4 if you want two bites at the sausage) and there is a shorter 5.5 mile option available.
Head torches not essential this week, but optional for “the sausage”.
Current forecast is for 4C and perhaps a little precipitation, so dress accordingly. Of course you must wear something bright and hi vis.
Smiley Chris will be behind the bar as usual upstairs after the run with his special brand of humour and the finest beer, wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity.
7:30 ish start from the Nevill – its time to commit !
Any offers for setting routes in the new year gratefully received.
Geoff Turner
