Greetings Harriers
I trust the legs and heads are recovering from yesterday’s activities.
I’m this week’s Routemaster 🚌, so fasten your seat belts and here we go ……
This week’s run is a repeat of one that Craig Chapman set for us back in 2011.
Craig needs no introduction to club members. Not only does he organise the pacers for the HM (and can often be seen training on the route) but as club road race captain he lead us to victory in a number of Kent Grand Prix trophy wins. While adept at all distances Craig has made the marathon distance his own and was the first club member to complete all 6 of the Marathon Majors. He has won almost every club trophy over the years (yes really) and I’m sure he has a fair bit of county silverware for good measure. All that remains for Craig to conquer is the mud and take to XC although his love for his wife and daughters might prevent a move to the dark side (XC, cake & beer) for a few years yet..
We will be exploring the northern regions of Tunbridge Wells (High Brooms & Southborough) and although we won’t be passing through Chapman Way we will be passing Craig’s gaf in Yew Tree Road, before a straight forward return to the club rooms.
The full route is 7.2 miles with a shorter route of 4.5 miles – something for everyone.
A head torch is not needed this week.
Current forecast is for 8C, light winds but the potential for a little drizzle (twice daily updates will not be given)
You must wear something bright and hi vis.
Smiley Chris will be behind the (newly refurbished) bar as usual upstairs after the run with his special brand of humour and the finest beer, wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity. The Master Brew is actually as good as it gets at the moment , thanks to Chris, so give it a try.
7:30 ish start from the Nevill – its time to commit !
Any offers for setting routes gratefully received. Gem is doing one on the 26th, so can you !
