Yesterday I ran the Wales Marathon. It is part of the ‘Long Course Weekend’ where Ironman disciplines take place on three consecutive days, with each discipline being a stand alone event. I finished in 4:25:04 in 435th place and 5th MV60 out of 1167 finishers. It was hilly, hot, and tough, and although not in the best of form was reasonably pleased with the result. Running alongside those who had completed both the 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike ride made me feel totally respectful of them. Maybe next year!
A great event. Tenby certainly knows how to put on a show, with the finish in the main street, not tucked out in a back street somewhere.
I’d thoroughly recommend it.
Good accommodation about an hour away!

Derek
