I am contacting running clubs in the region in order to raise the profile of the Compton Challenge (Saturday 18th May 2024) which returned to the race calendar last year.
The Compton Challenge now comprises a full marathon (26.8 miles), plus a 16 mile race which start/finish on the Compton village recreation ground (Berks: RG20 6NP).
These are scenic trail races which follow a variety of tracks and paths that pass through and over the Berkshire Downs.
Please visit the Compton Harriers website (http://www.comptonharriers.

Hello from Russet Runners in Marden, Kent!
We are delighted to invite you and your members to take part in the brand new Russet Runners Marden 10k on Sunday 2nd June. The event is licensed by England Athletics and Run Britain, and will be the first ratified event to take place in Marden.
The picturesque, flat route takes in many of the beautiful country lanes round the village, includes partial road closures and will be fully marshalled. There are prizes for male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers, and all participants will receive a finisher’s t-shirt and sustainably sourced wooden medal.
As a fellow running club, we would be delighted to see some of your members at our event, and we would be hugely grateful if you could please distribute info about this new race to your membership. We are really excited to be launching a new event, and anything that you can do to raise awareness amongst your club would be hugely appreciated.
Full details including entry information, route map, and a fly-through video of the course can be found at www.russetrunners.co.uk/10k
We are more than happy to send some publicity materials if these would be useful for you to forward to your membership. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like any further information.

We are a cricket club in South Shields and last year we opened up our ground for the first time to Great North Run participants who wished to camp instead of staying in accommodation. This was quite successful given that we only advertised via our social media pages. We are offering camping again this year so we are contacting running clubs across the country to let people know about us.
Great North Run weekend camping will be available from Friday 6th September to Monday 11th September 2024 at a cost of £35 per person per night payable on booking (no motorhomes). Park your car (one car per tent), pitch your car tent and relax.
Our facilities include;
Car park with CCTV
WC and shower facilities
On site bar
We are a 10 minute walk from the finish line and within walking distance of local shops, bars and restaurants.
Nearest metro station is Chichester (10 minutes away), close to local bus routes and a 20 minute walk into South Shields town centre.
