TWH run – Wednesday 8th March: Snow and sleet ?

Club Events
Good day Harriers,
Well, I’m off skiing to a place with little or no snow and what should happen?
Tunbridge Wells is forecast (well by the BBC anyway) to have sleet and snow on Wednesday.
Anyway, watch this space as the Duty Marshal might have some last-minute changes to the evening. Carparks run anyone?
Our Duty Marshal …..
So instead of releasing thousands of confidential TWH Committee WhatsApp messages, I have for you instead the Wednesday (provisional) route.
This week’s run is a repeat of one that legendary TWH runner and former race director Mark Taylor set for us a few years back. Up Warwick Park (hmmm) but then opens up to a rare foray onto the other side of Forest Road
So, with Mark as this week’s Routemaster 🚌, fasten your seat belts and let’s go ……
Whether you are returning from skiing, recovering from your weekend marathon training run, or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.
The long route is 6.8 miles and the short route 5.0 miles – something for everyone.
This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out, especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright with a head torch an optional accessory.
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a snowy/sleety/dry and chilly 2C.
I’m out for some type 1 fun in the Alps this week so won’t be making an appearance.
Tea Total Trevor and Chris are hosting us in the bar afterwards, selling the finest beer (Harveys), AF lager and ale, wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity, at special prices, with crack sidekick, Rocky, so why not relax and have a drink with your friends before you head home.
7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit!
