TWH run – Wednesday 15 November 2023 – Quiz Time

Club Events
Greetings Harriers, Bamber, Jeremy, Bob Sez and all the other great quiz masters of the world.

Upsetting too many people ?
Sorting out your home office not your thing ?
Let Bob take you back in time to an era when the running was fast and club records were (not) easy.

Or have I got the wrong Jeremy ?

I hope you have your group of 4 and will be listening intently

This week’s run is a repeat of one that Allan Cheek set for us back in 2011. Cheeky needs no introduction to club members. He has done much for the club. Prior to becoming Hub Meister, included Social Secretary and Race Director before we had to move him upstairs (don’t tell him) to the job of President for a few years. He even has a very decent marathon time under his belt as well as several club road and XC M50 titles.

So, with Cheeky as this week’s Routemaster , fasten your seat belts and here we go ……as we will be exploring the wild west region of Tunbridge Wells (Rusthall) as well as the village area, before a “scenic” return to the club rooms.

The full route is 6.9 miles with a variety of shorter routes between 4.4 and 6.5 miles – something for everyone.
Map and GPX attached.

WARNING – beware a seemingly harmless mature gent offering to take you for a drink at every hostellery on route.

It might be a scam as it isn’t @realAllanCheek.

Bob wants to get his show on the road at 8:30 so Quizzers are asked to a do a route distance that enables them to be ready in time.

This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright  with a head torch a recommended accessory.

Current forecast for Wednesday is for a damp and cool 7C.

The Nevill is closed for repair for a few months, so we will continue to utilise the fine facilities of the Nevill Tennis Club next door to us for baggage and post run showers followed by our post-run refreshment. Turnout has been great and we want to keep that going.

So after the run head back to the tennis club – the perfect temporary home for the top seeds of Kent running.

The ideal place to relax and chill.

7:30 prompt start from the Tennis Club Bar – Tennis Club change rooms and showers are open, then its afters upstairs at the Tennis Club Bar – it’s time to commit !
