Greetings Harriers
As we start to think things Autumn and the nights draw in, we switch on a Wednesday night from the delightful countryside of Kent and Sussex to the mean streets of Tunbridge Wells.
Back in March 1994 Oasis frequented the mean streets of TW, playing at our very own Forum for £75, a figure that wouldn’t even get you a single ticket on their forthcoming tour. Oh well.
I would like to give a big thankyou to Ed Steele who has presided over the summer routes with his usual mix of challenge, fun and surprise.
This week we have a Simon Howden classic from 2015.
So, with Simon as this week’s Routemaster , fasten your seat belts and here we go ……
We have a 7.2 mile long route and a short route of 5.1 miles – something for everyone.
There is some off road in the first two miles but road shoes will be fine (just don’t wear your brand new ones).
No head torch will be needed this week.
Whether you’re training hard, tapering , recovering from your weekend long run, or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.
This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright and hi viz. Our 2 tail runners this week are Hugh Hennebry (short) and Dan Foster (long)
Whether you’re training hard, tapering , recovering from your weekend marathon, or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a pleasant 18C.
Map and GPX attached.
There is also a walking group that sets off at the same time. So if you’re injured, tired or just want to let it be come along and walk with friends.
The cricket club crew host us in the bar afterwards selling the finest beer, AF lager and ale, wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity, at special prices, so why not relax and have a drink with friends before you head home.
7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit !
