Greetings Harriers, ghouls and ghosts
In keeping with the spirit of Halloween, this run incorporates the Woodbury Park Victorian Cemetery (just off St John’s Road) and the Kent & Sussex Cemetery (located between Benhall Mill Road and Bayham Road).
I won’t be there this week as I’m in Brighton with PF Steve. So with my ghost as this week’s Routemaster , fasten your seat belts and here we go ……
A small number of you might appreciate my attempt at some farmyard Strava art. Feel free to ignore it and focus your attention on the ghouls and ghosts that may be out on the streets with us.
Brave the elements and enjoy this Halloween treat – running is fun !
Standard route 7.5 miles
Short route 5.3 miles (if you leave out the chicken feet).
This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright and bring a head torch if you can, especially if you want to explore Woodbury Park or if you want to run the loop around the K&S cemetery .
All on road, so best to wear hi vis or something bright and feel free to get your new pair of Nike Alphafly 3s out of the box and on the tarmac.
Our 2 tail runners this week are Alison Beard (short) and tbc (long).
Whether you’re training hard, tapering, recovering from your weekend racing, preparing for your next park run or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.
The current forecast for Wednesday is for a dry and pleasant 12C.
Map and GPX attached.
There is also a walking group that sets off at the same time. So if you’re injured, tired or tapering come along and walk with friends. No excuses !
Tea Total Trevor and Rocky host us in the bar afterwards selling the finest beer, AF lager and ale, wine and soft drinks in the vicinity, at special prices, so why not relax and have a drink with friends before you head home.
7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit !
