And plenty of others too, Milton Keynes, Manchester, Edinburgh etc.

This week’s run is set by TWH stalwart, author and singer, yes, our very own Terry Everest. The route is a little complicated (well, what did you expect ?) with all the doubling back, but basically there’s a red line for reach time you go along the route so there are four lines on High St / Mt Pleasant as we’ll go up it twice and down it twice.
  1. Out of the club, down Warwick Park, up Mt Pleasant, up to the top of Church Rd
  2. Down Church Rd and to the Crescent Rd roundabout.
  3. Back to Chapel Place
  4. Up Mt Pleasant, right into Calverley Park
  5. Down Mt Pleasant and up Grove Hill Rd
  6. Down Grove Hill Rd, down the High St, up Warwick Rd/Little Mt Sion, Claremont Rd
  7. Back again to Chapel Place, up Warwick Park and back to the club.
Simples. Its not actually that complicated, its fun and its a chance to see lots of Harriers on route.

So, with Terry as this week’s Routemaster 🚌, fasten your seat belts and let’s go ……

Whether you’re training hard, tapering , recovering from your weekend marathon training run, or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.

The route is 6.1 miles and there are infinite shorter (and longer !) options – something for everyone.

This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright and hi viz with a head torch helpful in Calverley Park. Please also be mindful of members of the public using the footpaths for purposes other than running like Terry.
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a dry and mild 9C.
Map and GPX attached.
There is also a walking group that sets off at the same time. So if you’re injured, tired or just like an icy reception come along and walk with friends.

The Nevill is closed for repair until May, so we will continue to utilise the fine facilities of the Nevill Tennis Club next door to us for baggage and post run showers followed by our post-run refreshment. Turnout has been great and we want to keep that going.

So after the run head back to the tennis club – the perfect temporary home for the top seeds of Kent running.
The ideal place to perfect your fueling strategy.

Due to refurbishment work, the women’s changing room will be unavailable at the tennis club for the next few weeks. There is a small disabled toilet facility on the ground floor which can be used to change in if needed and bags can be left in the bar area.

Additional toilets are being provided adjacent to the club house but unfortunately, no alternative female shower facilities are available for the duration of the work.
