TWH run – 27th December 2023 – Christmas Lights Part 2

Club Events
Ho Ho Ho again Harriers,

Here it is folks , the second biggest Harriers Christmas Wednesday run of the year …. the “full Sherwood” – a fantastic route courtesy of Dave Hadaway (2019 vintage) and fantastic map courtesy of Casper Morris.
If you enjoyed the Christmas Lights run last Wednesday before our delightful fish and chip supper, then you will be salivating at the thought of the full traditional route of yester year.

The lights will still be on and we have the pounds from all that food and drink to shed as we return to race weight for the second half of the cross country season and the beginnings of the 2024 Kent Grand Prix.

Please wear a flashing light, high viz and any festive paraphernalia that takes your fancy.

A head torch will be handy in a few places.

So, with Hadders as this week’s Routemaster 🚌, fasten your seat belts and let’s go .

The full route is 7.9 miles with a shorter route of 5.9 miles – something for everyone.
Map and gpx attached.

This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and wear something bright with a head torch a handy accessory.
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a wet and relatively mild 10C.

The Nevill continues to be shut and sadly the Tennis club is closed over the Christmas period.
So my plan is that we meet in the Nevill car park and after the run retire to a local establishment (probably the Ragged Trousers in the Pantiles) with a curry option afterwards at The Bengal Brasserie for the brave and the foolish.

7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms closed, showers closed and bar closed – it’s time to commit !
