Greetings Harriers, World Cup fans and Boycotters alike

Of course, Ziggy didn’t, but the Clash were definitely up for rocking the casbah.

Anyway, we have Golden Balls to give us the real deal in Qatar.

Well, the World Cup has started, but we won’t let it get in the way of our running, apart perhaps from admiring the interesting shape of some of their stadiums. Perhaps Cheeky can run a guess the body part competition alongside his guess the run-out lunch destination?

This week’s run is a repeat of one that Peter Richardson, long time committee member,  set for us back in 2013. Peter has 6 club M60 trophies on and off road and has numerous county medals as well.

So, with Peter as this week’s Routemaster 🚌, fasten your seat belts and here we go ……as we will be exploring the northern region of Tunbridge Wells, reaching High Brooms, before your choice of delightful direct or circuitous return to the club rooms.

The full route is 7.8 miles with a shorter route of 5.6 miles – something for everyone.

This week’s route is mostly well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out, especially for guests, and newer members and wear something bright with a head torch an optional accessory.

The current forecast for Wednesday is for a dry 8C (a refreshing change from last week).

Hockey Chris has been promoted “upstairs” (presumably to spend more time with his family) and has handed over the day-to-day reins to Tea Total Trevor, hopefully still selling the finest beer (Harveys), wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity, at special prices.

Rumours of a special guest “beer” at specially inflated prices have neither been confirmed or denied.

7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit!
