Afternoon Harriers
In the TCS London Marathon yesterday, Ali Farrall set a new F50 club record with her run of 3:20:50, clipping 15 seconds off the previous record set by Tara Taylor in 2015.
It puts Ali in 7th place all time as a Harrier and the 16th female harrier to run sub 3:30 (although she had achieved this previously, before becoming a harrier)
Amongst a number of other fine runs was a PB of 3:13:35 by Amelie Karlsson, which moved her to 6th all time quickest female harrier.
Dillon Hobbs (2:31:10) ran the second fastest marathon time ever by a male harrier, with just his club record run from London last year being quicker.
Alex Jeffreys ran a new PB of 2:35:27 to move to being the fourth fastest harrier of all time and after Gareth Hiron (2:58:30) became the 50th male harrier to break three hours in Manchester last week, Dave Weston took a whopping 19 minutes off his PB, running 2:58:45 to be the 51st.
There were PBs for Alex Holmes, Dan Goddard and Paul Gardner, plus Age Group PBs for John Law, Rob Hill and David French.
Great runs too by Ian Mulheirn, Grant Aitken, Gavin Cranley, Geoff Turner, Sonja King and special mention to second claimer, Benny Fiddimore, who made his marathon debut in the colours of Wadhurst Runners.
I’m sure somebody will be writing a race report to bring the occasion to life beyond the bare statistics.
Cheers
