TWH 2024 Club Grand Prix Trophy – final results

Club Events

Hi Harriers

First things first, 17 Harriers ran through wind and rain last Sunday in Maidstone.
Performances were solid in the conditions and the women did well enough to clinch the team KGP trophy for the year, while the men had to make do with battling for the minor places.

Maidstone was the last KGP race of the season, so the 2024 results are now final.

Despite putting in 10 appearances, reining champion Ali Farrall was unable to match the extraordinary achievement in 2024 of Tara Taylor.

Tara’s 86% for the year is probably the second highest by a Harrier since this trophy began in 2008, certainly the highest since Andy Howey’s remarkable 87% in 2018.

The Tuesday Tonbridge Internal Session crew continued to dominate the top placings (anyone welcome to come along btw).

I’m sure former Tuesday coaches Mike and Bob are looking down on us with a smile as well as their stop watch.

Here is the list for the overall for those that ran five or more KGP events in 2024.

Congratulations to the members that made it onto the list this year for the first time with a special shout out to Eren who came fourth in his first full year with the club. Also a shout out to the more “experienced” runners who battle it out for club and country each month, year after year.

Full results are attached.
The first KGP race for 2025 will probably be the Canterbury 10 on 26th January. You know you want to ……..

It’s time to commit. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The club road Grand Prix Trophy is designed to encourage Harriers to race more often, and on equal terms with all other members as the results are adjusted for age and gender. Each race of the ten Kent Grand Prix series counts towards our club road grand prix with a percentage result based on finishing time, age and gender. This percentage is calculated according to the 2015 WAVA scale. The winner is the runner with the best score at the end of the season, that is the average of their best five percentages over the series.

Age graded Percentage guidelines:-
100% Approximate world record level
Above 90% World Class Level
Above 80% National Class Level
Above 70% Regional Class Level
Above 60% Local Class Level
