Hi Harriers
Include a genuine road race in a road race championship and they will come ?
Following a mix of cross country and multi terrain events, the KGP finally featured a genuine road race and a massive 37 Harriers competed in good conditions in Staplehurst a couple of Sundays ago. It attracted a few of our big guns and we had 5 runners over 80% – a recent record.
Ian Doyle, Alistair Reed and Chris Stringer competed for us in the KGP for the first time, putting in creditable performances.

With at least 6 races needed to win and only 2 more races to go, the race for the trophy is down to a select few.
Only Dave Weston and myself look to have any chance of catching 2022 trophy winner, Ali Farrall (assuming she has learnt how to stay upright on a bicycle).
Full results are attached.
The remaining events in the 2023 Grand Prix are:-
Sep 17th – Larkfield 10k (Kent Champs) – https://www.larkfieldac.co.uk/ larkfield-10k
Oct 1st – Sittingbourne 10 miles – https://www.sportingeventsuk.
It’s time to commit.
The club road Grand Prix Trophy is designed to encourage Harriers to race more often, and on equal terms with all other members as the results are adjusted for age and gender. Each race of the ten Kent Grand Prix series counts towards our club road grand prix with a percentage result based on finishing time, age and gender. This percentage is calculated according to the 2015 WAVA scale. The winner is the runner with the best score at the end of the season, that is the average of their best six percentages over the series.
