Tunbridge Wells Half – 19th February 2023

Half Marathon
Dear Harriers,
We have over 400 entrants already who took advantage of the ‘Super Early Bird’ offer for our Half next February.  We are still in ‘Early Bird’ entrance territory, so if you, family, friends or colleagues are thinking about entering soon, the current offer runs until 21st December, before we move to standard entry prices leading up to the event itself.
Your Race Director and Club Needs You!
We are of course as usual, looking for as many club members to help out in putting on the event, which remains one of the biggest ‘club run’ events on the calendar.  Even if you plan to run, you can help out, before and after the race (and even during, by being a pacer), and if you are not planning to run then please put the date in your diary and  be ready to volunteer if you can.  We’ll be in touch nearer the time with more details.
Specifically at this juncture, we have two key posts to fill and we’d like to ask for volunteers to get in touch if they think they might be up for either of these as soon as possible.
The first position we need to fill is ‘Chief Finish Marshall’ a role that Dave ‘Hadders’ Hadaway has undertaken for more years than he can remember.  We have details of the role from Dave himself, and he has kindly agreed to brief anyone who would be willing to take this on.
The second role is that of Chief Car Park Marshall, responsible for co-ordinating a team  of volunteers to supervise the various local venues we use for competitors and spectator cars on the day of the event.  This has been ably fulfilled for a number of years by Mark Taylor’s son, but now we need another volunteer to take this on.  Once again, if someone would be willing to take the lead here, we’d love to hear from you now, so please get in touch.
With very best wishes,
Michael Youlton
