Tail Runners needed for Club Nights

News
Morning Harriers

As discussed at the AGM, we will be trialing a new Tail Running Group when we run off-road over the coming months.

The Tail Running Group will:
  • have a designated Group Leader
  • leave the club/car park last
  • run at a pace based on the needs of everyone choosing to run with the group so that no one is left behind
  • adjust the pace down to avoid overtaking any Harrier who may not have started with the group
  • follow the shortest designated/mapped route on the night
The Group Leader will not require any specific qualification and will always:
  • be identified during the pre-run briefing
  • wear a hi viz vest to identify themselves
  • carry a phone in case of emergencies
  • have a copy of the route in paper and/or electronic format
All members that attend Wednesday Club Night are encouraged to take their turn as Group Leader (more than one person may share the role each week).

We hope that this group will encourage less confident runners to have a go at off-road runs as well as providing a sociable group for more experienced runners and for those who are coming back from injury.

To kick things off, Jillian Holford, our Women’s Cross Country Captain, will be leading the first group, starting on 24th April.

Please have a look at the Rota (link below), check your diary and then sign up for one of the vacant weeks.
Many thanks in anticipation.
