Dear harriers
Not much to be said about the race : a nice route out to Frittenden and back to Staplehurst Cricket and Tennis Club , very well organised with marshals at key points and very good traffic control at one blind bend of the road on the way back.
I know I know , maybe we were supposed to be at a different 5 mile race but couldn’t resist as Mid Kent 5 was my very first race back in 2019 and holds dear memories( and sweet ones as I won the spot prize back then , some delicious cupcakes offered by a sponsor ).
Three harriers braved the pouring rain ( a nice change I’d say as the previous 2 years the weather was way too hot):
Michael Russell coming back from injury made me a nice surprise to enter the race at the last minute . Time 39:47
Mark Taylor who in a flash grabbed the prize for first M70 with a time of 44:25
Sam Dranga , 1:01:26.
First male : Simon Jones 27:29
First lady : Kay Sheedy 29: 53
249 finishers
Cheers
Sam
