Race Report: Givaudan Ashford 10k

Hi Everyone
Today on a sunny summerlike October day me and Michael ventured out on M20 to Ashford for a ” fairly flat” they said 10k around the town on closed roads, the 36th edition of a race starting and finishing on the athletics track at Julie Rose Stadium.
I disagree, it wasn’t flat but an undulating course, a nice route lined up with friendly and supportive Ashfordians and even a “cheering group” (“A very nice idea to have one for the TW Half”-  Michael said ) set up at the 7k mark together with a water station.
Finishers: 556
First man: Alan Wood 00:32:49
First lady: Imogen Amos 00:36:29
First harrier: Michael Russell 00:51:16, 219 overall, 179 male, 35 M50
Second harrier: Smaranda Dranga 01:16:45 , 534 overall, 215 woman, 51 W50
Now is the time to forget sunny days, dry roads and shiny shoes and search for the muddy pair and the favourite cake recipe as XC season is back and with it cold rainy weather (of course…).
See you next weekend!
