So being the 6th person i nominated myself to write the race report!! lol
So on a beautiful rainy Sunday, in JULY!! 6 hardy harriers lined up as the heavens opened. I was slightly nervous and regretting not running to the running hub on Saturday. To get myself some trail shoes! having not getting round to replacing my trail shoes! that have literally lost their soles and got holes in.
This year Wadhurst team had organised a 5 miler as well as the traditional 15miler. This year they didn’t have the school, so bag drop was in the elements (thanks to David for looking after mine) 15 miles is one lap with extra bit starting and finishing in field off Blackhurst lane near Greyhound pub. It was beautiful Bewl with all the mud it can offer.
This is my 5th time running it and only second, where it has been muddy! Last muddy adventure, I did wear trails shoes but actually lost one to a mud pit on way round.
This is actually my slowest time around Bewl, but actually pressure was off. I had done literally no training, it was raining and I was wearing my road shoes! lol you maybe sensing a pattern or list of excuses! I did fall at mile 10 as did Benny who was running under his first claim Wadhurst team. But luckily no injuries just a nasty blister!
