Two Tunbridge Wells Harriers took part in the sell out Orpington High Elms Trail 10k in and around High Elms Country park. The race was started by race designer / director SATAN in full red devils outfit warning runners of the protruding tree roots, neck high tree branches and Pylon Hill, stating that the course was tough and dangerous. The course looped around the country park, through a couple of fields and then back through the country park, the whole course including 6 hill climbs. Definitely not a course for a PB. The course was both tough and challenging, Orpington Road runners had marked every root with flour and had lots of encouraging and helpful marshals on route to help. The race was very well organised and enjoyable if you like hilly trail runs, which we do. There was an excellent selection of cakes at the finish to boot!!!
