Tonight we celebrate the birthday of our new Club President, Mark Taylor, with his annual birthday hash.
He is far too modest to talk about his own running prowess, so I thought it might just be appropriate to shine a little light on it.
This is a far from exhaustive list but did you know….
He is ranked the 10th fastest harrier all time at the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon with a time of 1:15 from 1995 as an M40.
In 1997 he won the Club Road Championship and is the only person to have won that and then the M40, M50, M60 and M70 categories.
Also in 1997 he ran the Flora London Marathon in 2:45, which ranks Mark as the 16th all time harrier over the marathon distance.
Mark closed out the last millennium with a run at the Serpentine Last Friday of the Month 5k on 21st Dec 1999, with a time of 17.01 as an M45.
He was the inaugural Club Cross Country Champion in 2000 and has 11 wins across the M40, M50, M60 and M70 categories since.
Finally, Mark still holds club records at M40 for 10k (33:56) and 10 miles (56:23) and at M45 for 10k (34:57), for 10 miles (55:14) and 20 miles (2:02:58).
Happy Birthday Mark!
