Well done to everyone who ran at the last KGP event at Larkfield a couple of weeks ago. Results have now been published for this so I can update on the current standings in the Kent Grand Prix. The way the scoring works here is we drop our two lowest scoring events, so the ‘adjusted’ totals shown are with these excluded and are therefore a more accurate reflection of the current position.
These are the standings with one event left to run – The Maidstone Half Marathon on Sunday 20th October. Please enter this one if you can.
In the Mens we sit comfortably in second place, however it does unfortunately look like Petts Wood will take our title away this year. We should hold second if we get a reasonable turnout at Maidstone, although Thanet remain a possible threat. Obviously its a shame to lose our title, but we knew from the outset Petts Wood were targeting this trophy this year and they’ve brought lots of runners to all events. I hope we can challenge them hard next year by bringing a strong team to each event and we can win it back!
In the Womens we continue to lead, however we could be caught by Petts Wood, so we need a good turn out at Maidstone to ensure we retain our title. Please sign up!
There is also still plenty to aim for in the individual competitions too with several Harriers well placed in both the overall and age category tables.
Hope to see many of you at Maidstone in a couple of weeks!
