So the results for Larkfield are out!
In the Men’s competition, we outscored our only challenger Thanet so increased our lead. The Ladies’ competition is tighter but again a good score at Larkfield helped increase the lead.
Current Standings with just one race to go:

Thanet Road Runners | 3436 | Thanet Road Runners | 897

Orpington Road Runners | 2760 | Petts Wood Runners | 888

Cambridge Harriers | 1167 | Cambridge Harriers | 395
Dartford Road Runners | 1060 | Beckenham RC | 329 |
To win the title it is the best 8 from 10 races that count, losing the lowest-scoring races. I have done some calculations taking this into account.
For the Men to lose from here Thanet would need to score 600. This would be a record so unlikely, but not impossible, so if we can have some decent scores at Sittingbourne to stop Thanet from scoring big points that will seal the title for us.
The Ladies is a closer affair and I calculate they would need to be outscored by 130 with Orpington appearing to be the real threat after the points adjustment. Again some decent scores at Sittingbourne will make sure this does not happen.
I am sorry I can’t be at Sittingbourne this weekend but good luck to those who are competing.
