Best Teams win on the Day!
Firstly, thank you to the 31 Harriers (22 Men / 9 Ladies), some not listed as Harriers (highlighted in yellow in individual results) for turning out for this important and last 2018 KGP Race, the Tonbridge Half Marathon.
As you knew before Sunday’s race the ladies had probably already secured the KGP title, but the men needed lots of runners to claw back the 20/30pts deficit against Orpington to have a chance of taking the title from them.
The Good News!
Well done to Nicola and the entire ladies team for comfortably winning the KGP title for the second year on the trot, and CONGRATULATIONS to Harriet Woolley for finishing as the top lady in Kent and to Hayley Larkin finishing in fourth.

The Not So Good News!
Unfortunately, even though we had 22 men running it wasn’t enough to compete with the mighty Orpington, who are very good at getting runners out on mass, and hence took the KGP title again for the second year. Please forgive my tone, but I was a little disappointed for a club our size not to have more men running/competing given this is a local event, enough said!

Thank you to everyone that has taken part in a KGP race this year, and for supporting the Tunbridge Wells Harriers in the process. Remember it always great to have a minimum team of ten (six men and four ladies) to collect the maximum KGP points, which count towards the team scores. But, as always, the more the merrier as you take points away from the competition.
I’m considering passing on the Road Race Captain baton for the 2019 season, so if anyone is interested please let me or another committee member know.
