Morning Harriers
The Kent County XC Champs will take place this Saturday (6th Jan) at Brands Hatch nr. West Kingsdown.
Please find attached an abridged programme including the timetable, course map and entry lists. Directions and race times are listed below — NOTE THE START TIMES ARE DIFFERENT TO PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED!
Jillian and I will be there early to collect race numbers. Don’t forget to bring some safety pins to attach your number! Please note that there are no entries on the day (please check the entries list in the attached programme to make sure that you have been entered).
It is going to be muddy so spikes or knobblies are highly recommended!
Reminder: all runners must wear club kit (deckchair and dark coloured shorts/leggings) — David Castle has a stock of deckchairs at the Running Hub if you don’t have one, have misplaced yours, or need a new one. Please note the use of headphones is not allowed.
LIFT SHARING
Please try and share cars where possible from St Johns Sports Centre. If you are able to give other people a lift or need a lift yourself, please post a message in the club Facebook group and arrange individually.
DIRECTIONS
Brands Hatch entrance (closest postcode:DA3 8PE) issituated on the A20 between Farningham and West Kingsdown.
Please enter by the Airfield Campsite Gate off the A20 (as previously used) and exit via the Main Circuit entrance which has an Automatic Barrier.Please do not enter via the Main Circuit Entrance. ONE WAY EXIT ONLY!
The route to the car parking will be marked with large yellow arrows attached to the fence posts. Ignore all the red Brands Hatch signs. The access track is uneven, with puddles, but solid. Once you go through a large gateway, the circuit becomes visible, and the marshals will then direct you. Passengers can be dropped off near the Start/Finish.DO NOT PARK on the grass.
