Dartford Half Marathon 2015

Reports

Just a brief report on the Dartford Half Marathon this morning…. We left Tun Wells in unexpected sunshine prompting suggestions that the weather forecasters had got it all wrong…but no – as we headed towards Dartford the weather and sky turned greyer and darker and wetter and colder and more gloomy by the minute…

Luckily the rain held off for the race itself but boy was it cold waiting for the start. Never before have we been so glad to be in close proximity to so many….

The course was “undulating” and an interesting mix of country lanes and the back streets of Dartford and its surrounds. I was particularly cheered to overhear a conversation between some other runners at about mile 3 saying that “the Dartford Half was torture but we still come back every year” – and who didn’t curse their way up the hill at mile 10/11 – if they still had the energy to curse!!! And the race finished round the Dartford Harriers track – I’m sure it was longer than 400m….

Despite that there were some brilliant results and PBs – Both Guy Jenner and John Law coming in the top 10 and Pru Clements winning bronze in the Kent Champs:- (hopefully this will work….)Just a brief report on the Dartford Half Marathon this morning….
