Crowborough 10k

Reports

On a very windy, but thankfully dry, Sunday morning six Harriers squeezed into the narrow start lane for the Crowborough 10k. The race started from Beacon Academy before joining an undulating 2 lap circuit on mainly open roads and pavements including a very full ford, a steep hill in the middle, and an uphill finish.

Derek Harrison’s deckchair seemed to have suffered a serious colour run incident in the washing machine and looked remarkably like a Wadhurst Runners vest! We’ll let you off Derek as this was a Sussex Grand Prix event! With no chip timing and a narrow road at the start there was quite a bit of jostling for position before the race quickly spread out. Lewis AC won both the mens and women’s races in 35:08 and 41:23 respectively.

Congratulations to Sonja King who not only ran her best time on this course but also won the Ladies V35 prize!

Thanks also to Mike and little Thomas King and Jillian Holford for their support around the course.
