Following on from Stuart Corke’s Track Captain report from last nights Lee Valley Middle Distance Indoor Track Open Meeting, here are the race details.
In heat one of the 800m, there were three inaugural club records; Andy Joad set an M60 mark of 2:47:04 in second place, Ali Farrall posted an F50 time of 3:00:25 and yours truly set a new M55 record of 3:13:86.
My M55 time was then almost immediately bested by Stuart Corke in heat two, running 2:36:85 to set a new record.
An hour later we were all back in action in the 1500m.
Following an almost identical pattern, there were three inaugural club records; Andy Joad set an M60 mark of 5:49:43, Ali Farrall posted an F50 time of 6:09:33 and yours truly set a new M55 record of 6:43:15
My M55 time was then again improved in heat two by Stuart Corke, as he shaved 83 seconds off by running 5:20:68 to set a new record.
So eight races, eight records – a good nights work!
