As I mentioned at the AGM in March, we currently have a Club Constitution and a set of Club Rules with a significant amount of overlap between the two documents. Additionally, some of the detail contained within these two documents is better served as a club policy which can be managed/updated as needed by the committee on behalf of members as opposed to requiring full AGM approval for each change.
To that end, the committee has recently approved several EA templated policies which build on content currently in the constitution and/or rules covering:
The committee will propose constitution/rule changes at the AGM to remove the content covered by these new policies. Until those changes are approved by members the constitution/rules continue to take precedence where necessary.
We have also created and approved a policy that duplicates the wording for London Marathon Club Place Allocation. Again, the committee will propose its removal from the Club Rules at the AGM and if approved will allow the committee to manage the policy going forward on behalf of members.
Please take a moment to have a look through the new documents. Hopefully, you will find they tend to follow common sense but if you have any questions or suggestions for future updates, please let me or any member of the committee know.
