Casper Morris – TWH legend

News

Evening Harriers.

It’s with a very heavy heart that I must let you all know that our great friend and club legend Casper Morris died earlier today.

Cas received a terminal cancer diagnosis several years ago but fought the disease so hard that sometimes it was easy to forget that the inevitable conclusion would happen. Even a few weeks ago he was still planning to meet people for a drink, but things took a sudden and swift turn.

A small group of us were lucky enough to go and see him (at his house) a week ago and although weak he was in great form.

His wife Lindsey has been just amazing in both caring for Cas and in communicating with us over the last week. She was at his side (with one of Casper’s brothers too) when he passed and she has said that Cas was pain free. Lindsey asked me to let you all know.

Casper was a fantastic athlete (running and riding) and an outstanding member of the club. His route maps will be used for many years to come. I was also told that Cas very recently renewed his membership…fully knowing that his journey was almost over…he wanted to die a Harrier. That speaks volumes and I’m in tears typing it.

Casper was a runner, a rider, a map maker, a beer drinker, a crisp eater, a husband, a father a fantastic friend and a proud member of the TWH family.

When there is detail on proceedings I will of course let you all know as I suspect a number of us would want to be there to pay our respects to a TWH legend.

A proper Tall Fast Guy.

Take care,

James
