Brighton 10K
A rather smaller than usual group made it down to the Brighton 10K today of 10 runners, no doubt many were put off by the hurricane force winds in 2015 and the cancellation in 2016. Although I suspect many of the regulars were feeling rather ill after the Tri club dinner the night before! Conditions were however ideal this year; sunny (albeit cold) and minimal wind.
My plan was to get as close to a PB as possible, unfortunately this was annoying too close and I missed out by 1 second! This was however by far the closest I have come to this time this year so things are looking good for the Florence Marathon next week.
James Sarre came within 5 seconds (too close) and in doing so set a massive PB of over a minute! I clearly need to start doing some speed sessions again, although it would mean he can do the reports in the future, so every cloud J!
Nick Reynolds was not far behind and also set a PB of over a minute as well! I will have to rely on Bob to tell me if anyone else managed to get any PB of AG PBs, but times are looking quick so well done all.
The winning man was Jon Hopkins in 29:40 and winning lady Rebecca Moore in 34:51
