Dear All
Now that marathon season is over (big well done to everyone who ran one – or even two) it is now Bluebell season and what better way to enjoy them than on the annual harriers bluebell run.
The 2023 Bluebell Run will take place this Monday 1st May, starting from Harrison’s Rocks Car Park in Groombridge (closest post code: TN3 9NH). The car park charge is £1 per hour, or £3.50 for 4 hours and it appears the parking has been “upgraded” to use Ringo – details here – Birchden Wood | Forestry England
I understand it is also the Groombridge May Day Fair on Monday so just a heads up that the village may be busy by the time we finish the run. Or you may want to stay to enjoy the Fair.
As shown on the attached map, there are three route options of about 6.5 miles, 9.8 miles and 12 miles. Most of us generally do the middle route and there is plenty of re-grouping/stopping to take photos/admire the view etc
I’d suggest trail shoes might be the most suitable given the recent rain if you have them – but the forecasters are promising better weather for the weekend – so fingers crossed!
Hope to see you there!
Nicola
