Bedford Half Marathon

Reports

Two Harriers made the trip north to Bedfordshire for the local Bedford Half. A lovely half, well organised with very practical extras such as shuttle bus from parking area, jumper collection at the start line so you weren’t completely frozen while waiting for the gun, optional medal and a Bedford Harriers towel for all runners.

The course was a single undulating loop through the countryside with a mixture of quiet country roads and a few sections of single file along busier stretches. Downhill from Mile 9 was a welcome relief. Friendly marshals and fellow runners made the event very enjoyable.

This was the county champs so there was a good field, despite this Pru managed to crash the show and take F45 first place with a typically gutsy run.

Would recommend this as an easy to get to, well run race.
