Yesterday Alex Holmes and I made the short trip (very short in his case as his parents live just down the road) to Beckley, near Rye, to take part in the 15th running of the 10k race. The weather was perfect after some pretty horrible stuff on the Saturday and we were both very happy to bag trophies in a nice, low-key event. The course is hilly but quiet and scenic, and worth the trip if you fancy a late road-season blast.
Jeff Pyrah of Rye Runners just edged the men’s race by 3 minutes (35:18) while Francesca Gardner of Weald Tri Club won the women’s race in 45:35.
