Beckenham Relays 2023

News
Hello All Harriers
Although the results for the above event are not yet published and I am not going to write the race report and I haven’t worked out who has that task (the 17th fastest Harrier is due that honour), I would like to record my thanks to each and every Harrier that took part to help make it one of my highlights of 2023 so far. To see 51 Harriers giving 100% effort around this somewhat hilly course, resplendent in the (in)famous Deckchair was a sight to behold.
I should like especially like to thank Dave Hadaway and Kannan Mahalingam who, despite suffering with injuries, turned up prepared to run so that no team was left unable to complete the race without a full team. Dedicated Harriers.
We did hope that our Mens ‘A’ Team of Liam White, Will Levett, and Alex Reid, would manage a top five place and that our Ladies Team of Ali Farrall, Cathy Gill, and Emily Nash would achieve our highest placing in the event. Both of these teams ran beyond expectation and were rewarded with 3rd Place in both Mens and Ladies Races I should advise Ali and Cathy that I am looking after their liquid prize.
It was a pleasure to see Billy Hobbs back in a Deckchair for a one off appearance (or maybe not??) and Dillon Hobbs coming down from Cambridge for the evening just to fill in as a last minute replacement. The spirit and support of,and for all of our members is the envy of many.
Long may it continue.
I was presented with a water flask (the property of Elliot Chiles) which was found in the Park. I shall bring it to The Club next Wednesday.

P.S. I shall get the full Harriers results out as soon as they become available.
