If you’re training for a spring marathon, or just fancy a long run, then join us for 18 miles of road running. There is a short cut that trims 5 miles off this for those not wanting to run the full 18 miles, or you can add an extra 2.4 mile loop at the end, beginning, or both.
2015 Dates
Sunday 18th January;
Sunday 15th February;
Sunday 29th March (TBC – from Wadhurst);
Sunday 5th April;
The runs start promptly at 8am from the Camden Arms Hotel pub car park, which is on Pembury High Street by the main shops and opposite the village green. Do not be late or we will have gone!Water and sports drink are laid out at each of the three drinks stations at approx 6, 12 and 18 miles, plus, if anyone wants anything else put out, let Derek have it on the Wednesday before the run at club night.
The circular route, goes from Pembury to Matfield, Horsmonden, Brenchley and back through Matfield to Pembury. You can download written route instructions and also a Google maps route.
Either just turn up at the pub car park, or contact Derek Harrison.
The runs are not marshalled and are all on road, hilly in places, with some stretches on busy roads, so we must advise that runners do not use iPods or similar devices as these will impair awareness of traffic. High visibility clothing must be worn, and runners are responsible for their own safety.
For those new to the marathon training runs, they are informal without specific pace groups, but different groups tend to form at various different paces.
Written instructions follow below.
