TWH Run: 16th October 2024 – It’s a marathon and a record

Club Events
Greetings Harriers,

Inspired by the Harriers at Footscray Meadow on Saturday, Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich smashed the women’s world record by nearly two minutes at the Chicago Marathon, winning in 2:09:56.

So with Rosie Harris as this week’s Routemaster , fasten your seat belts and here we go ……

This week we have a route up to Powder Mills Lane that our route mistress and long standing former Social Secretary, Rosie Harris put together for us back in March 2019.
Standard route 7.2 miles
Short route 5.4 miles
This week’s route is well lit but please try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests, newer members and those still recovering from the Footscray Meadow cross country.
Our 2 tail runners this week are tbc (short) and Gem Stilliard & Rose Sawyer (long).
Whether you’re training hard, tapering, recovering from your weekend racing, preparing for your next park run or just want to run with your friends, there is something for you.
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a bit damp but surprisingly warm 17C.
Map and GPX attached.

There is also a walking group that sets off at the same time. So if you’re injured, tired or tapering come along and walk with friends. No excuses !

Tea Total Trevor (and hopefully Rocky) host us in the bar afterwards selling the finest beer, AF lager and ale, wine and soft drinks in the vicinity, at special prices, so why not relax and have a drink with friends before you head home.

7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit !
