As well as being President of TWH, Allan is the owner of a certain local running shop. He has been a keen runner since 1962 "With short breaks for
college, honeymoons, divorce and drink-related incidents; oh and a broken leg!" and is active in all things Harrier related.

I’ve never been able to answer that.
Rugby at school and for Old Bristolians. Two seasons as a “cheeky” scrum-half; retired when the beer jugs grew too big.
Run a running shop (open 10 -5.30 M-F, 9 – 5.30 Sat)/Skiing/Light libation/Beer Judge.
Has to be dipping under 3 at London – no chip time then of course. My sponsors had all offered to double their money if I did it.
5000m at Dartford track in the Vets League for TWH. I was feeling strong with 200 to go - I put the pedal down and hit the line unchallenged – unchallenged that is except for the finish officials who claimed outrageously that I had another lap to go! Ended an embarrassing final lap on 19:30, watched by the entire field.
Beachy Head possibly, but surely the Eridge 10 what with its superb organization, atmosphere and BEER! Only been able to race it once.
Avoid alcohol on training runs – unless it’s the Sunday Run to Larkins Brewery.
Anyone who can make the Sunday Run or recce the club tour.
Lie about the distance! As most of my long runs are off-road I simply imbibe the sheer pleasure of being close to nature whilst enjoying the physicality of a basic human activity. Blimey, getting a bit philosophical!
Bacon sandwich and strong espresso.
To win a race – only managed second at the Hastings 10K. Too late now – unless nobody turns up.
TWH (or TWR from my early days in 1996) has always been an open and friendly club offering runners of all abilities (under 10 minute miling of course) the chance to train with safety, meet and socialise with a wide variety of people and develop lasting friendships via a great mix of events, both competitive and relaxed. The tradition of cross country participation at TWH has always appealed to me and which I believe incorporates all the best things in the club. It’s great to see new people bring new energies and levels of competition and see them develop within our much envied environment. Long may this continue.
