We are pleased to be able to announce the fixture dates, venues and start times for the 2011/2012 Kent Cross Country League meetings, which are as below.
There are a number of races coming up soon and in the New Year. However they have entry deadlines well in advance of the actual race date. See the entry details for each race via the links below for the deadlines. You cannot turn up on the day and must enter in advance if you want to race. Entry is still paid for by the club, it just has to be sent off together as a team entry.
I will be sending out further emails but I must know BEFORE these dates are reached if you intend to race, so contact me asap if you want to take part.
Anyone may enter, the more the merrier. The men's races are 10K and the women's races only 5K. (If any women think that this is too short then regard it as a bit of speed training - it will do wonders for your fitness). For all but one of the races the women run directly before the men so, for both men and women, there's plenty of support as you slog your way through the mud.
There are four matches over the season, but even if you can only make it for one race you could score valuable points for the club, especially as the men take part in both a '4 to score' and a '12 to score'.
If you fancy having a go please drop us a line - it's low-key, great fun, and good winter training.
There will be further opportunities for newbies to join in as the season progresses, but administratively it is much simpler to enter a list of potential candidates up front prior to the start of the season. Additional fixtures such as the Nationals, Masters and Club Champs will be confirmed later in the year.
For further info please contact Ed Steele (men's cross country captain) or Sian Roberts (ladies' cross country captain).
