Tunbridge Wells Harriers ladies were delighted to win the 2nd team
prize in warm blustery conditions at Larkfield 10k on Sunday. The
ladies were led home by Tara Taylor in 41:19 and 5th lady overall,
followed by Jeanette White, who is making a stunning comeback after 7
years out of competition, in 42:28 and new member Jane Johnstone making up the 3rd scorer in 44:19. 17 Harriers were out in force with lots of new members racing for the club for the first time.
Terry Everest was the first Harrier home in a superb time of 37:55 followed by Ultra runner Derek Harrison in 41:10. Also running were Alan Collard 42:50, Matt Clark 42:54, Mike Russell 44:48, Blayne Jackson 45:17, Steve Woodruffe 46:00, Keith Duke 46:03, Mike Jarvis 46:26, Peter Lautch 47:04, John Johnson 49:02, Lucille Joannes 51:54, Peter Nuttall 51:57 and Steven Denman 1:58:41. The race was won by Tom Collins of Medway and Maidstone AC in 33:30 and first lady was Jenny Fowler also of Medway and Maidstone AC in 37:42. There were 333 finishers.
