Paddock Wood Half Marathon (Kent Grand Prix and Kent Champs)

Race date:
11 April 2010
Distance:
Half Marathon

At the Paddock Wood Half Marathon there were some great results and some massive pbs.

Our men's team had strength in depth. Although not winning the team prize which was won by Tonbridge AC with a 'masterclass' display taking 1st and 2nd places, Nick Leech, Chris Wolton, and Craig Chapman did win the men's bronze medals in the Kent Champs team category.

Matt Clark running a 2 min pb in 1.24.21 was outside the grand prix scorers as he was 7th Harrier Home.

The women were led home by Wendy Bennett in 1.41.33 with Sian Roberts close behind in 1.43.19.

Other noteworthy performances:

Michael Kennard ran a new personal best in 1.32.08, 5 1/2 mins off his previous PB. James Sarre ran 1.32.15, and his previous time (he has only run a half once before) was 1.36.25.

Sarah Russell gives particular congratulations to some of her Thursday Beginners Group - especially Anita Yau and also Sue Elliot - who ran an incredible 18 minutes faster than at Tunbridge Wells. She also gives a little mention for Eddie Russell (10 years) who came 3rd overall in the 'fun run', which was won by a 14 year old club runner from Paddock Wood AC.
