Darenth Valley Holds Shortest "Sunday Run" Ever (according to Mr. Cheek)!
Today was different in many ways, the Sunday Run temporarily put on hold, thanks to an entry by Mr. Cheek, plus it was also a busy day for lots of other Harriers running in Brighton, Paris and more locally in the elegant Darenth Valley. 13 Harriers (11 men & 2 ladies) ventured north up the M25 to the village of Eynsford for what is described as an undulating course with a 3km downhill stretch to the finish. They obviously forgot to mention the brother of Sausage Factor Hill looming around 7km, Doh! 553 runners completed the 10km course with Ramsey Kechacha (unattached) the winner in 34:25 and the first lady was Tina Oldershaw (Paddock Wood) in 38:27.
To the Harrier results (individual times listed below) – Stuart Shields was the first Harrier across the line in 37:16 and 9th overall, followed by Craig Chapman in 37:28 and James Sarre in 42:41. Kimberley Deeney was the first lady Harrier in 46:06 and 13th lady overall, followed by Sioban Adams in 53:39, Well Done!
It is getting a lot closer in the men's competition with 300pts separating the top 3 positions and just over 400pts separating the top 5. Larkfield and Maidstone gained some valuable points today and we now see the likes of Cambridge Harriers and Orpington creeping up the table.
For the Ladies, Larkfield and Maidstone also pulled out all the stops, and have gained a bit of a lead with Orpington moving up from 9th position. We continue to hover around 5th position, slipping a bit into 6th with only a difference of 10pts, I’m sure we can make this up in the upcoming races!
So after the fourth KGP race :-

1. (1) TUNBRIDGE WELLS HARRIERS - 1,629
2. (2) LARKFIELD AC - 1,458
