Sat 19 October @ 09:0011:00 BST
As mentioned on recent club nights, the club will be ‘taking over’ at Kingdom parkrun at Penshurst for one event on the 19th October. Essentially, this means that we will be providing a number of volunteers and will have the opportunity to promote the club. Full control of the event will still be retained by the Run Director on the day.
We will require volunteers for the following tasks:
- Marshalling (1-2)
- Car park marshalling (2) – can also run
- Bar code scanning (2)
- Timekeeping (2)
- Finish tokens (1)
- Tail walker (2)
- Event photographer
- Run report writer (can be anyone helping or running on the day – have a look at the event website to see previous reports)
Kingdom is a relatively small parkrun and does not normally have pacers, but if you would like to have a go, just let me know what time you’d like to run. However, if you haven’t already run at Kingdom, I strongly recommend that you try the course before the event as it’s hilly and an even effort (as opposed to an even pace) is hard to judge. It’s open all week.
Please email me off group or speak to me at the clubhouse, and I will collate a list of helpers to pass on to parkrun for their future roster. I’ll need your parkrun ID (bar code number starting with ‘A’) and your preferred role, including proposed time if pacing.
This is another excellent opportunity to promote the club to the local running community, so please come and help on the day. The café is superb and the views amazing. On this one occasion, Deckchairs should be worn by all Harriers taking part.
